 "Great phone system" 2009-05-13
By Laura L. Adelman (Upstate NY)
We have had these phones for almost five years and they have been great. Only now am I shopping around for a replacement system because the kids have dropped them a few too many times. I have three little kids and these have taken a beating.

The phones have tons of features. It is a great solution for VOIP (Cable) phone service because you can have phones in several areas of your house without jacks. The sound quality is great and the speaker phone is loud and clear. Each receiver has a speaker built in, so it comes in very handy. You are able to adjust the volume accordingly. The batteries hold a long charge and the range is great. I can go outside anywhere in our yard (1/2 acre) and still receive calls.

My only complaint is that there isn't a way to turn down the volume on the answering machine. Whenever a call comes in, it is quite loud. We disabled the answering machine portion and just use our phone voicemail to solve this issue.

I plan to buy Uniden again. The low cost with tons of features are an attraction, as is the durability and longevity.

 "Very cool, but flighty" 2007-06-06
By Jeff Landauer (Santa Clara, CA)
This phone is very very cool in its functionality. It does a lot of nice things, and by the features, the best phone I've ever owned.

But it just is not solid. After a year of owning it, we are starting to periodically lose phone service, and it is definitely the phone, because an old analog phone works jsut fine. This phone just keeps getting into a state where it thinks one of the phones if off the hook, and nothing we can do except unplug it for a week seems to bring it back. Also, about 15% of the time the sound quality is quite poor and is subject to echoes, although normally it is fine.

 "The worse Phone" 2007-01-04
By Joseph Sottosanto (Ct.)
This phone was nothing but trouble. It continually stopped working causing me to have no phone service. I called my phone service and they came up and determined that the problem was in the phone,so I hooked up my old phone and everything was fine with my service. I would not reccomend this model phone to anyone, even though it's a Uniden.

"Great phone, only minor problems" 2006-06-10
By Kai Zhao (Urbana, IL)
We've been using this phone in a house with WiFi (B/G) coverage and an older analog 2.4GHz phone. Sound quality has been great and there has been no noticable interference between the systems.

Pros:

-Messages can be replayed/deleted on the base station or any handset. Each handset has a 'blinking light' message indicator.

-Each handset can have it's own 'name' displayed on the LCD screen, useful for paging/intercom

-Bright, easy to read display

-Phonebook can be copied between handsets

-Base and Handsets have their own ring tone and volume

-Answering machine gives date stamps to messages

Cons/Possible Improvements:

-Small "concave", buttons (convex buttons are usually easier to press)

-Awkward button layout (many buttons have two uses and the "select" button is at an awkward place)

Summary:

Great phone system to give the whole house telephone access with only one jack.

 "avoid this phone" 2006-05-07
By Michael B. Flanagan (Atlanta, GA)
Avoid this phone. The sound quality is poor and the buttons on the phone are too small.
