 "Decent features, poor range" 2006-02-17
By Nigel (Texas)
I think the other users of this phone have covered well enough the features of this phone. The main problem with the phone is its range. I feel that due to it's poor antenna on the handset your range is severely cut. I've found that I have to point my head in a certain direction for the break up of the signal to be lessened.

Pros that I found:

Voice message feature that hangs up after playing is nice.

Buttons and screen are easy to use.

Cons:

Range is poor.

Expandability seems to be limited to two handsets.

Price is no longer competitive with other products out there.

the handset speakerphone is great, but you must be close for your voice to be heard on the other line. the volume is generally weak compared to other phones. it's best feature, however, is it's 5.8GHz frequency. there's virtually NO interference from other electronic devices. i also very much like the almost invisible antenna. can't see it, can't break it . . . the phone's bright orange display is also very cool, not to mention the phone's similarity to a cell phone. the answering machine records very clearly and the remote operation is easy to learn. overall a GOOD phone!

 "This phone sucks!!" 2004-12-24

I live in a loft across from train and commuter train tracks in a semi-industrial area. The phone has worse range than the 900 I had -- about 20 feet from my door. I have an outdoor entrance. The reception also sucks. Don't buy it. I should have tested it more thoroughly.

 "Poor Range" 2003-12-06

This phone has a great answer machine on it and the voice quality is superb, but the range is terrible. It may be good for an apartment or a condo, but I couldn't walk through my house without it breaking up, and my house isn't that big. And the instant I walked out the door it broke up, only forty feet from the base! I was disappointed. My recommendation after trying many phones is the 5.8 Ghz AT&T or the V-Tech version of the same phone. I know they transmit 2.4Ghz back to the base but I tested it, there is no interference on either end from micowave ovens or wireless B connections. If you live in a house I would not recommend this phone.

"Not bad, but needs improvement" 2003-10-29

I was rather disappointed with this phone for the following reasons: The buttons on the keypad are way too small. I had to use the very tip of my fingers to dial numbers.
It doesn't wall mount - although this may not bother others.
When using the phone, the sound I heard was wonderful, and the range very good - BUT several people that I spoke with complained that my voice sounded 'tinny' and distant. The last complaint\issue is one I have had with all of my cordless phones - there is no backup power for the base unit. Everytime there is a power outage, the time and date have to be reset.
